Three releases went out in the last few days. Here is what changed, in plain words. Full notes are on the changelog.

1.4.6

  • The NR Color slider in Detail now actually clears the coloured speckle in high ISO shadows. Photos you edited before keep their look.
  • AI Crop works on photos shot in 16:9. Before, it always said no crop was needed.
  • Ctrl+S saves your edits. Choose Edit Style moved to Ctrl+Shift+S.
  • Esc never exports. It only leaves crop mode now.

1.4.5

  • Closed and half-closed eyes are caught per eye. Culling checks each eye of the main subject and tells you which one is closed, instead of guessing from the whole face.
  • Select Subject keeps the soft, out-of-focus parts of a subject on shallow depth of field (ears, the back of someone's hair).
  • Highlights runs the right way on every photo: minus recovers bright detail.
  • In agent mode, Claude, ChatGPT and other assistants can mask subject, sky, people or background as real layers, crop to any ratio, apply your saved presets and use the experimental effects.
  • On macOS 12 and 13, imagic now says it needs macOS 14 or later instead of quitting at launch.

1.4.4

  • Older libraries open on first launch. Updating over an old library could crash with "no such column"; the upgrade now retries and tells you what to do if it cannot finish.
  • Brushes, masks and healing work on Intel Macs.
  • On the free trial, the export window shows how many of your 500 exports are left and warns you before a batch that is bigger than that.
  • Two imagic windows on Windows keep their own previews.

The app offers updates when you open it. If something in these releases misbehaves for you, post in Bugs and help with your version number.
