New to imagic? Here is the path from download to your first exported photo.
Install
- Windows: the installer is not code-signed yet, so Windows may show a blue "Windows protected your PC" screen. Click More info, then Run anyway. More on that in its own thread in this category.
- macOS: builds for Apple Silicon and Intel are signed and notarised by Apple. imagic needs macOS 14 or later.

Activate
Start the free trial (500 exports, everything unlocked, no card) or enter your licence key. One licence is active on one device at a time, and imagic keeps working offline for up to 14 days.
Your first shoot: the five steps
- Import: point imagic at a folder. No catalogue to build. Tick scan subdirectories if the shoot is split across cards.
- Analyse: every photo is scored for sharpness, exposure, detail, noise, composition, faces and whether the subject in focus is sharp. It runs on your computer; photos are never uploaded.
- Review and cull: check the picks (shortcuts in the culling thread).
- Edit: by hand, with a look, or with AI Enhance.
- Export: JPEG or TIFF, optionally with Lightroom sidecars.
