Editing with an AI agent: imagic's MCP server, Claude and ChatGPT

imagic Max includes an MCP server, which lets an AI assistant drive imagic for you: import a folder, cull it, mask, crop, apply your presets and export. Reading your library needs no approval; anything that changes photos asks first.

On your computer (Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Cursor, Codex, Copilot and others)

Point your client at imagic's built-in server. The exact config for each client is on imagic.ink/mcp/setup.

From ChatGPT or Claude.ai on the web (since 1.4.0)

  1. In imagic, turn on Remote control on the Home screen. You get a 6-digit code.
  2. Add https://mcp.imagic.ink/mcp as a custom connector (ChatGPT developer mode, or Claude.ai Settings, Connectors).
  3. Sign in with the code. Your photos stay on your computer; the assistant sends commands to imagic.

What to try first

  • "Cull this folder, keep the best 50, one per burst."
  • "Mask the sky on the keepers and bring it down a stop."
  • "Apply my preset to everything from Saturday and export JPEGs."

Run a whole shoot from an agent walks through a real session, and every tool is listed with its parameters.
