imagic scores every photo, and one setting changes how much faces matter: Settings, AI Culling, Subject.
People: faces count toward the score (the default)
For portraits, events, family, street. Faces and eyes count: a closed or half-closed eye on the main subject lowers the score, and since 1.4.5 imagic checks each eye separately and tells you which one is closed.
Action and sports: ignore faces
For sport, wildlife in motion, dance, anything where the face is often turned away or hidden by a helmet. Faces stop counting, so a sharp shot of a back-turned athlete is not marked down. With this mode on, imagic also groups a burst by pose into phases of the movement and flags the peak frame (shipped in 1.3.12).
Honest limits. Splitting a burst by phase works best on clear movements. Fine-grained phases, like telling a vault approach from the moment of contact, are on the request list, not done yet.
