Where Excire Foto stands

Excire Foto is AI-powered photo and video management software. Its AI runs on your own computer, and it is built to search, rate and select across large libraries, including finding duplicates and judging aesthetics, sharpness and facial expressions.

Like imagic, it is sold as a one-time licence with no subscription, which makes it one of the closest competitors on price model. The difference is the job: Excire organises and selects, then opens your picks in the editing app of your choice.

Pricing note: Excire Foto 2027 lifetime licence USD 249 / EUR 229 as of September 2026 (USD 219 / EUR 199 during its launch promotion), with discounted upgrades from earlier versions and a 14-day free trial (check vendor for current pricing).

Verdict

Excire Foto and imagic agree on the two things many photographers care about most: the AI runs locally and you buy the software once. They do different jobs. Excire is a library tool for finding, tagging and selecting across years of photos, and hands the selects to an editor. imagic is built to take one shoot from the memory card to finished exports, culling, developing the RAW files and exporting in the same app. Some photographers will reasonably use both.

Frequently asked questions

Is Excire Foto a subscription?

No. Like imagic, Excire Foto is a one-time purchase. Excire's regular price for the 2027 version is EUR 229 or USD 249, with paid upgrades between major versions; imagic is EUR 19, 49 or 99 once.

Does Excire Foto edit RAW files?

No. Excire describes Foto as photo and video management software: it reads your RAW files to organise, rate and select them, then opens the picks in the editing app you choose. imagic develops RAW files and exports them itself.

Do both run offline?

Yes. Excire states all its AI processing happens on your own computer, and imagic's culling and editing run locally too. Neither needs to upload your photos.
