apply_lut

Put one of the user's LUTs (see list_luts) on the given photos.

What it does

lut_name is a name or id from list_luts (case does not matter), or "none" to remove the LUT. strength is 0..100: 100 is the full LUT, 50 blends it half-way with the photo without it. The LUT is a finishing look applied after the rest of the edit, stored in each photo's edit stack (so it survives reopening and is baked into exports) and leaves every other adjustment as it was. Photos with a LUT export through the editor's engine, so the file matches what the editor shows.

Where it runs

On your machine. imagic's MCP server is a local process that your AI client starts; the photos never leave your disk and nothing is uploaded. That is true of every tool in the reference, including this one.

To call it you need an MCP client connected to imagic. Setup takes about three minutes for Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code, Codex, Gemini CLI and ten others.

Give your AI the whole pipeline

apply_lut is one of 30 tools in imagic Max. The free 500-export trial includes all of them.
