Export

Export your keepers in one click

From version 1.4.8, the Review screen has an Export keepers button that sends every photo marked Keep straight to a destination folder, without opening the full Export Options dialog first. It exists because most trials that stall do so between Review and Export, having already made every keep or trash decision.

Steps

1. Make your keep and trash calls on Review & Cull

The button stays disabled until at least one photo is marked Keep; its label updates to Export N keepers as you go.

2. Click Export keepers

The export runs in the background off the main thread, so you can keep reviewing while it works.

3. First time: check where it landed

The first export from this button uses safe defaults: your Pictures folder, in an imagic subfolder, named for the shoot, original size, JPEG quality 90, and Keep both on a name clash, so nothing you already have gets overwritten.

4. Change the destination or format any time

Your own settings always win after the first export: open Export Options from the Export step (Export All Kept) to set a different folder, format or conflict rule, and the one-click button uses that going forward.

Frequently asked questions

I don't see this button in my version.

It ships in imagic 1.4.8. If you're on an earlier version, use Export All Kept on 5. Export instead, which runs the same export with the dialog's full set of options.

Does it export photos still marked Review, or only Trash?

Only photos marked Keep. Review and Trash are both left alone.

Can I use it more than once on the same shoot?

Yes. Each run exports whatever is currently marked Keep; Keep both as the default conflict rule means a repeat run never silently overwrites an earlier export.
