Steps
1. Press Esc while the Exporting Photos window is showing
The window says Press Esc to cancel at the bottom. It closes straight away; imagic does not wait for the photo it is working on.
2. Watch the status bar
It reads Stopping the export, with how many photos were exported so far, while the photo in hand stops at its next processing stage. That photo leaves no half-written file and stays marked Keep.
3. Wait for it to finish stopping
If you start another export before the last one has fully stopped, imagic says The last export is still stopping. Try again in a moment.
4. Export again when you are ready
Photos already exported stay exported. The next export skips them by default and only exports photos that are new or changed since their last export; tick Export everything again in Export Options if you want the whole set redone.
Frequently asked questions
Does stopping an export delete the photos it already exported?
No. Every file finished before you pressed Esc stays in your export folder.
Does a stopped photo count against my trial?
The trial counts exported photos. A photo you stopped mid-export produced no file and goes back to Keep.
Esc did nothing on my version.
Update to 1.5.9 or later from imagic.ink/desktop. Earlier versions only checked for Esc between photos.
My Mac export is very slow. Is that this?
Stopping is fixed in 1.5.9; the speed of exports on Mac is a separate issue being worked on. Stopping and restarting is safe: the restart skips everything already exported.
